From employee to entrepreneur
How to become an entrepreneur and what is the hardest part? I often hear the answer: "Getting the first clients." But I think it's mainly to START THINKING like an entrepreneur. I help people who want to leave a corporation and start their own business. And I've seen it happen over and over again.

From manager to entrepreneur.
Typical example?
A woman in a management position, 20+ years of experience in the industry. Manages a team, reports to the board, fed up. She wants to pursue her expertise and entrepreneurship.
We set up the framework for her business including pricing at the consultation. This is often based on the idea of "a little more than the current salary". The would-be entrepreneur automatically assumes she will work 8 hours, and probably a few extra hours in the start-up.
This is where the first major AHA moments come in:
1) Freelancing isn't just working for clients.
2) Freelancer is never billing 100% of the time worked.
Let's take a closer look. Working for yourself involves a number of activities in addition to professional activities for clients:
💼 business development and networking
💼 marketing, accounting, legal, IT
💼 own training and upskilling
💼 holidays, sickness, childcare, time for your partner and yourself.
Professional work
While every aspiring entrepreneur looks forward to doing professional work for clients (and to ditching the team management, endless meetings and other corporate management work), it's worth thinking about side activities too. And preferably right from the start.
In addition to the annoying meetings, the 9-5 job also offers a number of benefits that are easy to get used to and which the employee will quickly come to regard as automatic. However, freelancers have to manage without paid holidays, sick leave, a company IT guy, accountant or lawyer. And without a company mobile phone, computer, an equipped office or a company car.
That is to say, they take full responsibility for their business and provide these facilities in their own time and at their own expense.
And that's why they need to make money for it. Which is why their rate cannot be just 'a little more than the current salary'.
The mind-set of the entrepreneur
In consulting, I not only help with setting up the business, but also the mindset. To make the business sustainable in the long run and bring joy😊, self-realization🌟 and financial stability 💰.
